Vince Vaughn & Reese Witherspoon Revel in “Four Christmases”

The vampires were only a hot item for about a week as Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon’s surprising hit comedy “Four Christmases” easily won the box office top spot with a take of $46.7 million in the 4-day holiday weekend run.

If that estimated amount hold, it would make the comedy the third-best Thanksgiving weekend opener ever, after Toy Story 2 ($80M) and last year’s Enchanted ($49M). It’s also a best for Vaughn since ‘The Break-Up’, and it’s Witherspoon’s best since ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ more than six years back.

New York Giants star receiver Plaxico Burress is in heaps of trouble. Not only for accidentally shooting himself in the leg at a Par-tay at a Manhattan club Saturday morning - that injury will likely end his season. No - it’s this: New York City passed a wicked lil law last year that says carrying a gun without a permit is a mandatory 3 1/2 year prison sentence!

A law enforcement official said that the gun, a Glock semiautomatic pistol, was recovered at Burress’s home in Totowa, N.J. Burress turned himself in to NYPD this morning, some three days after the incident.

Patrick Swayze News is Not Good: Cancer Has Spread

Cancer-stricken actor Patrick Swayze has been living life to the fullest, and even wrapped up filming on a TV show recently, but there are reports this weekend that the actor is losing his battle with the pancreatic cancer.

“Patrick recently got word that the cancer had spread to his liver and that is what his doctors said would begin the countdown to the end,” a source told National Enquirer magazine.

Actress and fashion conglomerate Mary-Kate Olsen is reportedly pregnant by boyfriend Nate Lowman, so says the National Enquirer. The reasons for the rumors apparently is that the pint-size 22-year-old “Full House” star has gained 22 pounds and now is a hefty 102 pounds. That sounds like nuthin - but remember she been a waif-like 82 lbs for a couple of years.

A source said: “Mary-Kate has been looking a lot rounder recently. It is good she has put on weight, because she previously suffered from anorexia, but a lot of people think she could actually be attempting to hide her pregnancy.”

Kabbalah School dropout Alex Rodriguez is planning to spend Thanksgiving with Madonna instead of his kids, who will be spending it with their mom and A-Rod’s estranged wife who left him because of his affair with the older Vadge.

Access Hollywood is reporting that Cynthia, who’s in the final stages of her divorce from A-Rod, wrote an e-mail to a confidant noting: “My 6-foot-3, 220-pound soul-less, soon-to-be ex-husband is abandoning his kids on Thanksgiving to be with Madonna . . .
