Who would have guessed that the quicky marriage between Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon wouldn’t last? Actually… everybody. They’re not quite two months into their wedded bliss, but Mimi and her young stud don’t have a prayer to make it work, says a report in Life & Style.
“I give the marriage six months, tops,” said a source close to the singer. “I can’t see it lasting.”
Senator Barack Obama this week denied that he had a running e-mail relationship with Scarlett Johansson. “You’d imagine that someone like the senator who is constantly traveling and constantly ‘on’ — how can he return these personal e-mails?” the actress told the website Politico a couple of weeks ago. “But he does.”
“She sent one e-mail to Reggie, who forwarded it to me,” Obama said matter-of-factly, referring to his personal assistant, Reggie Love. “I write saying, ‘Thank you Scarlett for doing what you do,’ and suddenly we have this ‘e-mail relationship’.” BURN!
An online report that claims Jennifer Garner is “considering splitting up” from Ben Affleck is not true according to the actresses rep, who cleared up the rumors on Wednesday. The rumor was started by E!’s Ted Casablanca who speculated that a split was the reason “Jen and Ben are always seen cooing over adorable daughter Violet - separately.”
And not because they are two actors with busy careers??
Denise Richards is telling In Touch magazine that her two young daughters, Sam, 4, and, Lola, 3, have been place in “counseling” because of the turmoil in their lives. Wait, aren’t parents supposed to protect kids from stuff like fighting and divorce proceedings, and not exploit them on a TV show?
“My kids are in therapy,” Denise revealed. “It’s very sad that they need to be there, but they do for now, If I can help anyone feel better about their kids being in therapy - then something else good has come of this, too.”
Bummer week for Anne Hathaway! Last weekend her movie with Steve Carvell “Get Smart” rocked at the box office grabbing the top spot - and yet all folks are talking about is her sleazy Italian beau Raffaello Follieri whose been charged with 11 counts of fraud and money laundering.

Oh, and they say that Follieri “tested positive” for opiates during a routine drug test.
On Madonna’s list of things to do this summer, divorcing husband Guy Ritchie comes in second - right after the most important thing of her life - going out on tour. Insiders expect an “official” announcement of the split to come after the tour finishes.
“They live like brother and sister rather than husband and wife and thought it best to call it a day,’ the pal tells the Daily Mirror.
Sir Anthony Hopkins is reportedly thrilled to be given the shot of playing King Lear in a big screen movie of Shakespeare’s great tragedy. Gwyneth Paltrow and Naomi Watts will play the bitchy conniving older daughters and Keira Knightley will likely play lithe Cordelia who’s dead body Hopkins will have to carry around and weep over insanely in Act V.
