Slasher sequel Saw IV has killed off box office competition to top the US and Canadian chart, with takings of $32.1m (£15.6m).

Each October since 2004, a new chapter in the Saw series has been released to box office success.

“I would expect to see Saw V next year, Saw VI the year after that and Saw VII the following year if they can keep it up,” said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box-office tracker Media By Numbers.

Lost actor Daniel Dae Kim has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving by Honolulu police.

Kim, who plays Jin-Soo Kwon on the hit show, was taken into custody before 3am and released on bail, Hawaii police have said.

Superior Court Judge Susan Speer said Spears will still have to face one count of driving without a license, a charge the singer pleaded not guilty to through her lawyer.

Rap star Diddy has accused the media of over-blowing accusations that he assaulted a man at a New York night club earlier this month.

“It was something that was just totally overblown…I don’t fight over girls!” Diddy, real name, Sean Combs, said.
